Pastor Edward L. Johnson was born October 2, 1954 in Berkeley County, SC, the sixth of eleven children of Johnie & Thelma Johnson of Goose Creek, SC. Edward was educated in the Berkeley County School System.

June 1972 graduated from Goose Creek High School in Goose Creek, SC

September 1972 entered US Armed Forces, served for 3 years in the Army. During his military tenure, he rededicated his life to God and was called by God to preach the gospel in 1974. While still serving in the Armed Forces, Edward traveled to Mexico, Germany, Belgium, France, Holland, and England. After an Honorable Discharge from the military, he served an additional three in active reserve duties. While in the reserves he attended the N.C.O. Academy.

1976 ordained Elder of COGIC

1976 enrolled in studies at the Baptist College of Charleston (currently known as Charleston Southern University). He majored in Religion for approximately 2 years.

1977 appointed Jurisdictional secretary for S.C.J.

1981 appointed Pastor of the Friendship Inspirational Church of God in Christ in Lincolnville, SC, where he currently serves as Pastor.
During his pastorialship, he took educational tours to the Holy Land and Seoul, Korea. He had the distinct privilege to attend services in the largest Full Gospel Church in the world, Yoido Full Gospel church.Edward is married to the lovely Missionary Stacey E. Lattimore-Johnson and he is the father of 6 wonderful children and 6 grandchildren.
